There are many brands and specifications of artificial grass carpet on the market, with varying quality. Consumers need to master key techniques and avoid common pitfalls when purchasing in order to select a product that suits their needs and offers good value for money.
First, pay attention to the grass blade parameters. Grass height and density directly affect the user experience and visual appeal. Short grass (10-20mm) is suitable for specific usage scenarios, such as construction site fencing or wind protection for soil.
X-Nature Grass 108J: Grass height 10mm, material PP/3500, stitch gauge 5/16 inch, density 22,608 stitches/m², single-layer backing, fire-retardant and flame-resistant, UV-protective and heat-insulating.
Medium grass (25-35mm) is a general-purpose type, balancing aesthetics and comfort, suitable for balconies and living rooms.
M8225: Grass height 25mm, material PE+PP/12000, stitch gauge 3/8 inch, density 17,800 stitches/m², black-green anti-aging backing + tear-resistant reinforced yarn composite backing, double-layer XPU adhesive. The grass blades are thick and soft, with a realistic touch and strong visual appeal. It has passed safety and environmental testing, and is non-toxic and antibacterial.
Long grass (40-50mm) offers high realism and is suitable for landscape decoration, such as courtyards and commercial display areas.
HBA40: Grass height 40mm, material PE+PP/13000, stitch gauge 3/8 inch, density 21,000 stitches/m², black-green anti-aging backing + tear-resistant reinforced yarn composite backing, double-layer XPU adhesive. It is resistant to shedding, features four-color blending, ultra-high realism, high-density grass blades, and good resilience.
The higher the density, the thicker and more durable the lawn. Medium to high density (10,000–16,000 stitches/m²) is suitable for home and commercial settings, while high density (≥16,000 stitches/m²) offers greater realism and is ideal for high-end scenarios.
Secondly, check the backing material. Different backings suit different scenarios. PP backing is lightweight and economical, suitable for temporary installation; SBR rubber backing offers good elasticity and a comfortable underfoot feel, making it ideal for home settings; composite backing (PU + mesh) is wear-resistant, durable, and has good drainage, making it suitable for outdoor and high-frequency use scenarios.
Finally, test the quality through hands-on inspection. Try to pull out the grass blades with your fingers—if they are difficult to remove, the adhesive bonding is strong. Press down on the lawn and observe how quickly it rebounds—fast rebound indicates good blade elasticity. Tear the backing—if it is not easily torn, the quality is excellent.
